We charge an hourly rate ranging from €150 to €300 excluding VAT. The hourly rate depends on factors such as the lawyer’s experience and expertise, the complexity of the case and the urgency of the matter. The hourly rate will be determined with you in advance.
Depending on the nature and complexity of the case, in some cases it is also possible to make a fixed price agreement. This is always done in consultation with the lawyer.
If your income and assets fall below the legal limit, you may be eligible for financed legal aid. This means that the Dutch State covers (part of) the lawyer’s costs. You will then only pay an income-related contribution to our office. We take care of the application for financed legal aid. You can find the legal limit and the level of own contributions on the website of the Legal Aid Board (www.rechtsbijstand.nl).
Note: discount!
You can get a €65 discount on your own contribution. You must first contact the Juridisch Loket via telephone number 0800 – 8020 and ask for a referral to one of our lawyers. In that case, you will receive a €65 discount on the personal contribution linked to the financed legal aid.
Our firm is a High Trust partner of the Legal Aid Board.
If you have legal expenses insurance, in some cases it is possible that your insurer will pay the lawyer’s fees. This depends in part on the type of case (some areas of law may be excluded in the policy terms) and the need for litigation. If your insurer decides that legal action is necessary, you are always entitled to a lawyer of your choice.
Certain costs are not covered by our hourly rate or costs covered by financed legal aid. You can think of court registry costs (the costs charged by the court or tribunal), costs of extracts from, for example, the municipality or the Chamber of Commerce, some bailiff costs, costs for requesting (medical) information and costs for an expert. These costs are for your own account and will be charged to you by the lawyer.
