Pierre has been a lawyer since 1990. He graduated from Catholic University Nijmegen in Dutch Law (1984-1988) and studied Notarial Law (1989).
In his practice, he works for both individuals and corporations. Pierre is the immigration law specialist in Southeast Netherlands. He advises employers, professional soccer organizations and individuals on the regulation of a residence status. Due to his broad background, he is also active in the field of the law of persons and family law, criminal law and the general law of obligations. He is a regular referral address for many (social) organizations.
Pierre is also (has been) active for the Dutch Bar Association. For example, he has been a member of the Administrative Law Committee of the District Court of East Brabant and the Eastern Brabant Bar Association for eight years, the last four of which he chaired. He is currently a member of the Board of Delegates of the Dutch Bar Association. Finally, he is one of the initiators of the District Court in Eindhoven.

Bas has been a lawyer since 1998. He completed his studies in Dutch Law at the University of Utrecht in 1995, majoring in economic public and corporate law, as well as private and criminal law. After graduating, Bas worked as a court clerk at the district court in Breda, successively within the personal and family law sector and the criminal law sector. He also acted as secretary for the Supervisory Committee for the women’s penitentiary in Breda. Bas spent the first five years of his career working for a medium-sized law firm in Eindhoven, where he specialized in criminal law after several years.
He has been a partner in the partnership Van den Hoogen & Ruijters Lawyers since 2003.
In addition to criminal law, Bas specializes in immigration and asylum law. Due to his extensive experience in the fields of criminal and immigration law, clients can be assisted not only in the separate areas of law, but also in the interfaces of criminal and immigration law. For example, a criminal conviction may have consequences for residence status. Finally, Bas can assist you in cases involving the law of persons and family law, which sometimes also interfaces with immigration law. For example, a divorce or separation may in some cases have consequences for the residence permit.
Bas is a member of the Committee on Persons and Family Law at the District Court of East Brabant, a consultative body between the legal profession and the court.

During her studies, Josien worked as an assistant and as secretary on the board of a law store. In addition, she was a student assistant at Maastricht University tutor for the subject Criminal and Criminal Procedure Law. In June 2009 she graduated from the Dutch Law master’s program at Maastricht University. Within this Master she completed two profiles: a criminal law profile and a toga profile focused on practice. She completed both profiles with an overlapping thesis on the position of the defense after the introduction of the Experts in Criminal Cases Act. She has been working at Van den Hoogen & Ruijters Advocaten since March 2010. She conducts a general practice mainly with cases in the field of asylum law, regular immigration law and personal and family law.

Thijn graduated with honors in July 2024 from the Master of Law, Criminal Law emphasis at Tilburg University. During his studies he worked at the Rechtswinkel Tilburg, where he advised and litigated in the section Consumer & Housing in the Law of Obligations. In addition, he has provided examination training at the university in various subjects and has represented student interests at the Tilburg Law School as an elected faculty council seat holder. Since June 2021, Thijn has been working at Van den Hoogen & Ruijters Advocaten as a legal assistant, where he started as a lawyer after graduation.
